Gloria's Hair Saga: Attack of the Blondes...

I have hard dark hair for a long time, but I really wanted to "do something different."  I wasn't sure how to figure out how to "pick something different" but with some web surfing, I was able to find some solutions...

Pictures from Gloria's Makeover - 9-2002...

With some help from my husband Mike, and a great website listing on the web called "Google" we found lots of sites that talked about colors, changing hairstyles and more.  I knew I wanted to change to a lighter color, maybe blonde, but was there really a way to "see what would happen" if I "went blonde?  After some searching, we found a website on "iVillage.Com" called the "Makeover-O-Matic" which allowed me to take an existing picture of myself and try different colors, styles and much more.  With it we came up with the pictures below.

The Saga Begins: This is where it all started: Dark hair, with a few sprouts of grey.  I hate grey hair!  Time to find something new, but what to pick?  Thanks to the "Makeover-O-Matic" I was able to check out some of the "hip and trendy" cuts and colors to see what I really wanted to do with my hair.

The FRIENDS Cut:  I have several friends that have this haircut, and so I gave it a try on the Makeover-O-Matic.  The website is neat because it allows you to change the color, and the "side" of the part, so that you can see what you would look like with something completely different.

Short and Sassy:  This was almost the way I went:  When my hair is short, makes it really easy to get ready for work, and saves me a lot of time.  It also looks cute and a haircut for it can be a month or so off because it's so short.  Almost happened, but not quite.

Classic Fun:  I liked this one, because it's in the middle of being long, but it's still manageable, and not too long.  I also find when I have shorter hair I sleep better/different and while it sounds strange, it makes a word of difference sometimes.

And the Winner Is:  I ended up keeping much of the length I had in the back, and had it twisted along the curves of my face.  I really like it a lot and have gotten lots of compliments.  My stylist said I should "try something along the lines of a red" so who knows:  Maybe that can be the beginning of Hair Saga 2!

Update: 11-16-2002:  Because of my recently discovered pregnancy, I'm not able to dye my hair (except "once during the last tri-mester), so here's what I look like for the time being :)

Thanks for visiting my Pictures pages, and be sure to check out the other categories of pictures and the rest of my website!
